About Rookery Nook
Ideal accommodation for your short break or holiday in the lovely Waveney Valley, with easy access to all parts of East Anglia. Many guests have been delighted and surprised by the “Tardis” like feel...this is no cramped annex! Having been let out for several seasons, Rookery Nook has welcomed many guests, several return regularly, and has received dozens of 5* reviews on our HomeAway/Vrbo entry.
What to do and Where to go
Situated on the Norfolk/Suffolk borders, on a country lane on the very edge of the pretty market town of Diss, Rookery Nook provides an excellent base from which to explore East Anglia. Relax in the south facing gardens if you’re looking for a chill out time, and perhaps use the BBQ and dine all fresco - so many guests enjoy the patio space if the weather is kind to them. Or if you feel like getting out and about there is lots to explore in the vicinity and further afield - from heritage coastline, historic cities, pretty market towns, riverside/country pubs and restaurants, tourist attractions, beautiful gardens, steam museums and of course the Norfolk Broads….so much to choose from. Diss itself is a pretty town with a huge lake (known as the Mere) with surrounding park - take a wander into town, explore the little yards, have lunch or tea and cake (we recommend Amandines in Norfolk Yard or The Waterfront with its decking looking over the Mere). Venture north to the North Norfolk coast for a day trip, or East towards the beautiful Suffolk coast (Southwold, Aldeburgh, Dunwich Heath for example). Or perhaps west(ish) to try some punting on the Cam at Cambridge, not forgetting south to lovely Bury StEdmunds or Constable country in the Dedham Vale. And for “Kiss me Quick” seaside fun there’s Great Yarmouth. It’s all easily do-able for days out from Rookery Nook.
Pet Friendly: Guests are welcome to bring their pets with them, and very many do. We have welcomed mainly dogs, one cat and a budgie have also visited! There are lots of walks in the area to be enjoyed. We do have a pet policy, so please be sure to read it - see tab above.
